1. Jakob Poeltl
The same insider at Spurstalk also had plenty to say about Jakob Poeltl in his latest intel piece. His wording here was a bit more straightforward than anyone else mentioned though:
"A Spurs insider tells me that Jakob Poeltl is likely to be traded by the start of the season," said the report. "Now that Ayton is back with the Suns, the market for Poeltl should begin to heat up."
Before last season even ended, Poeltl's name was already being brought up in trade rumors often, and he was even nearly dealt to Charlotte on the day of the trade deadline. Since then, the Toronto Raptors have also expressed interest in the Austrian center on multiple occasions. Even Charlotte's interest in Jakob hasn't quite gone away yet.
At Air Alamo, we happen to think the Utah Jazz would make a good trade partner for Poeltl after they accumulated a ton of picks by dealing Rudy Gobert. Since they now have a hole at center, he'd be a fairly good fit.
In any event, all signs are pointing to the Spurs having a new starting center by the end of February.
