2. Assists Per Game (4.0) - 10th All-time
By the end of his career in San Antonio, Dejounte Murray very well could bump Tony Parker (5.7) from the top five Spurs ever in assists per game. Averaging just three per game in more limited minutes in his first three seasons, Murray has doubled that in the last two seasons and is now dishing 8.4 per night in the 2021-22 season.
If we go conservatively and predict Murray averages eight assists per game this year and seven for the next couple of seasons, that should bump his average up to around five and possibly higher, which would bring him up another few spots. The longer he stays and does that, of course, the more he can climb up the leaderboard.
3. Steals Per Game (1.3) - Tied, 8th All-time
Dejounte's rookie season, in which he only averaged 8.5 minutes per game across 38 games, brings down his normal steals per game mark quite a bit. Since his sophomore season, he's been averaging 1.5 steals per game and is averaging a career-high two per game this season.
As it stands, finishing with a career mark of steals per game would launch Murray into tied for second among Spurs with Rod Strickland and Johnny Moore. For now, he's sharing company with Manu Ginobili and George Gervin with his current mark of 1.3.
