Wing. G-League Ignite. player. . Jonathan Kuminga. 9. 84.

With the ninth overall pick in the draft, I have the Sacramento Kings finding luck on draft night once again and selecting Jonathan Kuminga.

If the Kings have Kuminga fall into their laps in the same way that Tyrese Haliburton did last year, they should not think twice about this decision at all. He easily made it to the top five in my latest big board, and securing him at ninth overall would surely be the steal of the draft.

Kuminga is a 3-and-D wing with elite athleticism and shot-creation upside, much in the same vein as someone like Paul George. Being that the Kings need much more depth at that position, filling that need with Kuminga would be the absolute best possible outcome for the team. He's fast enough to keep up with the likes of De'Aaron Fox and Haliburton, he could potentially provide even more three-point shooting than what the team already has if his shot develops well, and he brings the tools to become a solid defender.

While I think that the Kings have their eyes set solely on Moses Moody for the time being, if Kuminga falls all the way to the ninth pick, the choice should be an absolute no-brainer for the organization. He could be the last piece of the puzzle in constructing a playoff team in Sacramento.
