I'd like to start by apologizing for the featured image of choice, but hey, you signed up for this by clicking. But yes, at least one member of the San Antonio Spurs follows social media influencer-turned-"boxer" Jake Paul. More on that in a bit though.

Something occurred to me the other day that's different from Spurs teams of the past: Everyone on the team is on social media in one form or another. I don't really mess around with TikTok, so for my purposes, I used strictly Twitter and Instagram.

Channeling my inner Gregg Popovich, I decided to try to get to know the youths more by jumping into their follows to see what I can tell about certain guys on the roster. Aside from the expected rap artists, fellow athletes, and sports accounts, I learned Jock Landale is into cryptocurrency, Thaddeus Young isn't so young, and multiple Spurs are fans of Impractical Jokers.

Without further adieu, let's look at what I uncovered.

1. Bryn Forbes - Joel Osteen

I guess it might not be fair to call an account with 10 million followers "random" -- maybe unexpected fits better. Yes, Bryn Forbes follows Megachurch Leader Joel Osteen, who has found himself at the center of controversy often throughout his career.

No judgment here though. After all, other guys like Eric Gordon, Tyson Chandler, and Mario Elie follow the world-famous pastor. Osteen has 5,200 times as many Twitter followers as I do. So close.
