These Losses Will Continue Without Reinforcements

Another way to limit such nights would be adding another weapon to the roster. Adding one they saw on Wednesday, in particular, would help the Spurs and hurt the Hornets.

Miles Bridges is a restricted free agent this summer, meaning the Hornets can match any offer the Spurs might throw his way. However, the Spurs have more money than Charlotte may be willing to spend, so the 23-year-old beast might find himself on a new team for the 2022-23 season.

The Spurs should not add a player simply so they can beat the Charlotte Hornets, but Bridges is a 6-6 small forward who would pair surprisingly well with Keldon Johnson in the starting lineup. He can score from anywhere, grab rebounds, play good defense, and find the open man.

The Spurs let him score 19 points and have eight assists and eight rebounds, and this was only an average night for him. There’s no reason San Antonio shouldn’t pursue him with the money they have to offer a difference-maker.

Bridges is only one of many guys San Antonio can pursue to speed up their rebuild, but he would be a heck of a get if so.
