Fresh off of a huge victory against a division rival, the San Antonio Spurs will head north to the Target Center to face off against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Though they took a devastating loss to this team earlier in the season, the San Antonio Spurs handled the Timberwolves in both of their meetings in the Alamo City. This isn’t a road team by any standards, losing 8-of-14 games away from home this season, but they’ve shown signs of growth in recent weeks.

San Antonio led a huge comeback against Dallas on Wednesday in spite of an offensive explosion by rookie Luka Doncic. The Spurs claimed the 105-101 victory off of a 17-point outing from Marco Belinelli, who has come into his own as of late. Minnesota has dropped out of the playoff picture since the Jimmy Butler fiasco, but their young pieces are growing with each game they play.

The matchup between Karl Anthony Towns and LaMarcus Aldridge will be the focal point of tonight’s outing for many spectators. With two All-Star caliber big men dueling for dominance of the post, we may see a big night from DeMar DeRozan or Rudy Gay on the wing. Minnesota is without All-Defensive small forward Robert Covington and Andrew Wiggins is notorious for missing defensive cues so San Antonio’s wings may attack him.

Minnesota allows teams to shoot the highest three-point shooting percentage in the league and the Spurs shoot the best percentage from deep. This sounds like a recipe for success considering the hot streaks of Davis Bertans, Derrick White and Belinelli.
