After a trade between the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors, DeMar DeRozan and Kawhi Leonard officially swapped jerseys in the first NBA 2K19 trailer.
DeMar DeRozan and Kawhi Leonard will not make their San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors debuts, respectively, until the preseason starts at the end of September; they were traded for each other, as well as Danny Green to the Raptors and Jakob Poeltl and a protected 2019 first-round pick to the Spurs.
Fans can technically see DeRozan and Leonard in their new jerseys ahead of the preseason, but in a different format, through NBA 2K19. It’s the latest video game from 2K Sports that arrives soon.
On Tuesday, 2K released the first NBA 2K19 trailer after weeks of player-rating announcements. This featured a split second glimpse at DeRozan and Leonard in unfamiliar uniforms; just enough of a tease for gamers and NBA fans alike, before the real situation comes to fruition this season.
Soon gamers will receive the chance to play with DeRozan on the Spurs, with LaMarcus Aldridge, Rudy Gay and Dejounte Murray there to accompany him. The same with Leonard on the Raptors, as well as Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas.
These will not be the only Spurs and Raptors changes, either, as Green and Poeltl will swap jerseys for the 2018-19 season. How will they look in different uniforms?
NBA 2K19 will arrive on Sep. 11, 2018, and be available across multiple platforms. Are you looking forward to the new-look Spurs and to see Leonard in different attire?
