The San Antonio Spurs will go head-to-head with the Houston Rockets. A look at how to watch it online.
After one day of rest, the San Antonio Spurs will return to the court on Monday to face the Houston Rockets. It’s the third and final game of a road trip that took the Spurs to Golden State and Oklahoma City, both of which resulted in losses. Monday’s game will be at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX.
It’s a must-win game for San Antonio, who would move into 10th place in the Western Conference with a loss. That only increases the chances of the Silver and Black not reaching the postseason, for the first time since the 1996-97 season, which resulted in Tim Duncan at No. 1 overall.
The strong play of the Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets made the West an interesting race, one that threatens the Spurs’ playoff streak and might place them on the outside looking in. So it’s up to a limited lineup that will not have Kawhi Leonard (return from injury management), LaMarcus Aldridge (right knee soreness) and Manu Ginobili (rest) vs. the Rockets.
No Aldridge and Leonard vs. Chris Paul and James Harden could lead to offensive problems, with just Pau Gasol and Rudy Gay as the primary scorers. There’s Danny Green, Patty Mills, Tony Parker and others to flank them, but unless multiple players play over their heads, it might be a rough 48 minutes against one of the NBA’s best offenses.
