The San Antonio Spurs will face the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night. Let’s look at the game information before it starts.
After two days off, the San Antonio Spurs will face the Atlanta Hawks. It’s a home game at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX, and the 17th matchup of the 2017-18 season, steadily approaching the quarter mark.
In their latest game, the Spurs defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder, 104-101. This was behind a double-digit comeback, as the Silver and Black were down by 17 points after the first quarter. It brought San Antonio to 10-6 and the fourth spot in the Western Conference standings.
LaMarcus Aldridge led the way for the Spurs, with 26 points and 9 rebounds in 36 minutes. This leading role has been his for the 2017-18 season, and will stay that way until others return from injuries.
Behind Aldridge’s performance was Danny Green. He totaled 17 points and attempted 13 3-pointers, making 5 of them. The point total marked his second-highest of the 2017-18 season.
For Monday night, the Spurs will be without the usual players. Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker are still out with quad injuries and don’t have a definitive timetable to return. Derrick White remains out with a fractured wrist.
The Hawks are led by Dennis Schroder, who’s in the midst of a career year. His 20.1 points and 6.9 assists lead the team, numbers that are beyond anything he’s done in previous seasons. While that’s due to the departures of Paul Millsap, Al Horford, Kyle Korver and Jeff Teague from the past two offseasons, it’s allowed Schroder to step up.
