All the information that’s needed for the San Antonio Spurs vs. Minnesota Timberwolves game on Wednesday night.

On Wednesday night, the San Antonio Spurs kick off the 2017-18 season against the Minnesota Timberwolves. It’s the second night of the season, as two games started the action on Tuesday. The Spurs and ‘Wolves will only continue this and have basketball fans excited for more action.

Rudy Gay, Joffrey Lauvergne, Brandon Paul and Derrick White will all debut for the Spurs. The former three were signed in free agency, while the latter man was selected No. 29 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Gay was the biggest of the three signings. He could come off the bench to start the year, or potentially for the entire season, depending on how head coach Gregg Popovich rolls out the lineups. With Kawhi Leonard out, it’s possible he starts, but the small forward spot belonged to Kyle Anderson for most of the preseason.

Lauvergne takes over over the backup center role. He’s somewhat of an unknown, being a three-year journeyman and a different look from what Dewayne Dedmon offered. The defensive punch may not be there, but there’s arguably more offensive upside with the Frenchman.

Paul is a bigger unknown than Lauvergne. He enters Wednesday with no NBA regular season experience, aside from stints in the D-League and EuroLeague. If he plays, what will his impact be?
