Another San Antonio Spurs Summer League game resulted in another scoring-filled Bryn Forbes performance.

On Thursday, the San Antonio Spurs had their first playoff game of the Vegas Summer League. They entered as the No. 8 seed and had a bye on Day 1 of the playoffs.

The New Orleans Pelicans would be the Spurs’ opponent. They are led by Cheick Diallo and Quinn Cook, two former college standouts.

The star of the Summer League has been Bryn Fores. With 70 points over his past two games, he looked to add to this against the Pelicans. How high was his point total by the end of the evening?

Would it be another Summer League win for San Antonio? Did someone break through that’s not named Forbes?

Game Star

It’s difficult to give the Game Star to anyone but Bryn Forbes. His performance against the Pelicans wasn’t his best, as he shot 8-for-22 from the field. However, it resulted in a game-high 29 points, being the only player from either team to top 20 points in this game.

Forbes now has 99 points in his last three Summer League games. He’s only on a partially guaranteed contract, but each passing performance, like this, should help his case for the NBA regular season roster.

Other Notes

Derrick White returned to the lineup and had a respectable showing. He had 15 points and hit 2 3-pointers, providing the most scoring production outside of Forbes.

Olivier Hanlan had his best outing of the Summer League, too. He closed in on a triple-double, with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists.
