Information on how to watch the 2017 NBA Draft and what the San Antonio Spurs will do.
On Thursday night, the 2017 NBA Draft will take place. It will see the latest batch of players from college and overseas picked in a multi-hour selection show, which the San Antonio Spurs will be part of. They have the No. 29 and 59 picks, as of draft day.
It’s the second consecutive year of the Spurs having the No. 29 overall pick. In 2016, they used it on point guard Dejounte Murray, who arrived from Washington. That turned out to be the team’s only selection in the draft.
In 2015, Nikola Milutinov was selected with the team’s first-round pick. However, he has yet to play for San Antonio, due to them stashing him overseas. The Spurs used this strategy multiple times over the years, so will this be the case again on Thursday night?
As for everyone else, the Philadelphia 76ers will lead off the 2017 NBA Draft. They acquired the No. 1 overall pick from the Boston Celtics, potentially lining the 76ers up to select Markelle Fultz.
At No. 2, the Los Angeles Lakers will pick. Picks could range from Lonzo Ball to Josh Jackson, Jayson Tatum and De’Aaron Fox. This is a similar group for the Celtics at No. 3 and the Phoenix Suns at No. 4 overall. Who will go where?
