The 2016 NBA Preseason schedule has been released by the Orlando Magic. The first preseason exhibition is set in Orlando, as the Magic will be hosting the San Antonio Spurs on October 12,2016.

The new look magic will face a vastly different looking Spurs team. The Magic will face the Memphis Grizzlies and the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road before coming home to face off against the Spurs.

Just as the Spurs, the Magic have added new faces to their team. Orlando has seven newcomers while the Spurs have eight on the roster.

This will give Spurs fans the opportunity to see the new-look Spurs and the beginning of a new era.

San Antonio signed players with the intent to help capitalize on both youth and athleticism. This will be an opportunity for coach Gregg Popovich to see how the new young players fare against NBA talent before the season starts.

Players such as Pau Gasol, Davis Bertans, David Lee, Dejounte Murray and more will need to develop chemistry quickly, to continue flowing in the type of basketball the Spurs like to play.

Led by Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge, the Spurs are looking to give an encore to the best regular season the team has ever had (67 wins).

Leonard will be the main scorer for the team, although the Spurs system doesn’t rely on one player. He will have to be even more improved, and have another MVP caliber season for the Spurs to compensate for the experience lost due to Tim Duncan’s retirement, and losing other players such as Boris Diaw and David West.

Aldridge will also be there to help carry the load offensively and joined by Gasol, should form a very skilled tandem in the post, while also causing problems for opponents on the boards. They will be tested against Serge Ibaka and Nikola Vucevic.

The game will also mark  the return of ex-Spur, Chad Forcier, who is now an assistant with the Magic, and center Dewayne Dedmon playing against his former team.

The NBA’s regular-season schedule is expected to be released next week.
