Spurs Trade Boris Diaw To The Utah Jazz

With the acquisition of Pau Gasol to the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, the Spurs cut ties with Boris Diaw as they have traded the forward to the Utah Jazz.
According to Adrian Wojnarkowski, the Spurs have made the move that many were already fearing would happen. Diaw has spent five years in San Antonio and recently helped the organization in setting a franchise record with 67 wins during the 2015-16 season.

Diaw has played for San Antonio over the last 5 years. Not the most athletic player on the team, he still was a key contributor to the Spurs 2014 championship team. San Antonio needs to make adjustments to their roster to accommodate Gasol.
With the signing of Gasol to a two year, $30 million deal, the Spurs had to make necessary sacrifices for cap space.
Rumors have circulated that Diaw and Gregg Popovich were at odds, especially with the coaches dissatisfaction of Diaws’ weight.
Diaw was and still is a fan-favorite. I don’t see anyone in San Antonio taking a Diaw jersey and using it as a fire starter. In fact, some may use it as a form a tissue to dry their tears.
Bobo will be missed in San Antonio.
