There has been a growing concern about this summers Olympic games set to take place in Rio De Janiero, Brazil.
The most concerning next to injuries would be the Zika virus. Quite a few athletes bowed out of the qualifying games without reason, while others are taking the next few months to heal from injuries.
Other players such as Pau Gasol who is pondering his choice to play, and what his options are. Gasol remains conflicted because he wants to play, but it worried about Zika transmission.

Kawhi Leonard’s mate is expecting to have their first child next month, but Leonard has not given indication he will decline the invitation to play for team USA.
Spurs point guard Tony Parker’s wife is also due to have a son next month. Parker made a choice to play late into the NBA season with her blessing to play in the Olympic games, which will be his last tournament run.
Zika hasn’t scared Parker off, and he has in fact remained committed to play, although he says his family will not accompany him to Brazil.
My wife will definitely not go. She’s not going. My kids are not going. I’ll be going solo.

international competition, so he can solely focus on the rest of his NBA Career. Team France has never won a medal before, but reached sixth place in 2012 with Parker starting at point guard.
For Parker, nothing is going to stop him from capping off a chance to represent his country before he hangs up his uniform in FIBA. It’s hard to image that he has grown and gotten to the point in his career where he’s starting to slow down, but that day eventually comes for every athlete.
