Big Second Half Gives Spurs 111-86 Victory Over Houston

The San Antonio Spurs ended their preseason on a positive note, as they beat the Houston Rockets 111-86. The victory gives the Spurs their second win in six preseason games. LaMarcus Aldridge and Danny Green finished with 19 points apiece. Green was lights out tonight as he made 6-for-7 threes.

Early on the Spurs jumped on the board with a quick 10-2 lead. The Spurs went up by as many as nine points in the first quarter before the Rockets closed the gap. The game remained close throughout the second quarter. The second half was owned by the Spurs, as they outscored Houston 53-31. The Spurs defense was impeccable, shutting the Rockets

The Spurs allowed the Rockets to make a total of 10 second half field goals. The Rockets scored a total of five points in a little over minutes early on in the fourth quarter. The Rockets shot 39% from the field in the game.

After finishing with 19 turnovers against Phoenix on Wednesday, the Spurs only had 11 turnovers against the Rockets. The Spurs finished with 26 assists as well.

Tony Parker finished with 12 points, five rebounds, and five assists in 23 minutes. Manu Ginobili had six assists in 14 minutes.

James Harden nearly finished with a triple double. The 26-year-old had 17 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds.

Up next for the Spurs are the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday for the first regular season game.

The Rockets take on the Denver Nuggets in their regular season opener on Wednesday night.
