Spurs Ranked No.1 in ESPN The Magazine’s Ultimate Standings

The San Antonio Spurs have been the most successful NBA team in the last 15 years. They have a tradition of winning and doing things in a professional matter. It all begins with the trio of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili, and coach Gregg Popovich.
On Tuesday the San Antonio Spurs were ranked No. 1 among NBA teams in ESPN The Magazine’s 2015 Ultimate Standings. Not only did the Spurs finish as the top NBA team, they ranked No. 1 among all professional sports team. The Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder finished second and third among NBA teams respectively.
How are the rankings based?
The rankings combine fans opinions and how a team turns money into wins. Factors that impact the rankings are affordability, coaching, fan relations, ownership, players, stadium experience, title track, and bang for the buck.
1,014 sports fans across North America were surveyed in July to see what they want in the money, emotion, and time they invest in professional sports clubs. The research was done with the help of Maddock Douglas, a consulting firm in Chicago. The poll covered 25 topics such as honest ownership.
Through ESPN.com and NetReflector (opinion research company) fans were asked to rate their favorite franchises in each of the 25 areas.
The Spurs placement on these standings shows that they are well respected across the nation, and they do things with a high level of professionalism.
Maybe the Spurs can win their sixth title this season, that’s the reason LaMarcus Aldridge is here.
