Danny Green is an intriguing Fantasy Basketball option

Danny Green had quite the year last season. As a result of a career year, Green signed a 4-year, $40 million contract with the Spurs this offseason. It’s crazy to say that he took a small pay cut to remain on the Spurs, as they needed the money to target LaMarcus Aldridge.
Green averaged 11.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2 assists.

The 28-year-old wing connected on 191 threes, breaking Chuck Person‘s previous franchise record of 190 three point makes. Green doesn’t put up big scoring numbers, but he is capable of a 20 point outburst once a week. He is a below average rebounder for his position as well. Green’s assist numbers rose a bit, but he can still use improvement in the area.
Green’s value comes in the lesser talked about categories. He made the eighth most threes in the league. He is one of few to average at least one block and one steal per game. Green also made 87% of his free throws.
This season his fantasy value will likely remain the same. The acquisition of Aldridge will give Green cleaner looks on offense, and will help him become more efficient.
One can expect Green to be a vital part of the Spurs on both ends of the floor. Green should be a top-50 fantasy option, due to his production in threes, steals, and blocks. He is a safe bet to produce in multiple areas in 2015-16.
