The preseason gets NBA fans excited for a variety of reasons. It means that the regular season is a few weeks away and most importantly it’s a showcase for players that are on the verge of joining a rotation. The preseason will excite many, as players like Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant get to show that they are ready to go after season ending injuries last year.

The Spurs preseason begins on October 8th against the Sacramento Kings. The Kings have lots of talent. They have a terrific duo in Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins. The Kings also have Rajon Rondo, rookie Willie Cauley-Stein, and ex-Spur Marco Belinelli.

It should be a fun game for Spurs fans as they get to see Belinelli in a new uniform. It will also be the debut of LaMarcus Aldridge and David West in a Spurs uniform. I know it’s preseason, but it’s the first time they will suit up as Spurs, officially! The Rudy Gay-Kawhi Leonard battle should be fun to watch as well.

Spurs fans should be amped up to see if Kyle Anderson has continued to improved. Anderson averaged 21 points and 6 rebounds in the Las Vegas Summer League. He also won the Summer League MVP.

Strangely enough the first three preseason games for the Spurs are on the road. The Spurs take on Miami on October 12 and Atlanta on October 14.

The Spurs close out the preseason with three home games against the Detroit, Phoenix, and Houston.

It’s a good thing that their preseason schedule is this way, they don’t have to travel back-and-forth.

Their preseason ends on October 23rd against the Rockets.

The Spurs will begin their regular season on October 28 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
