Cady Lalanne: 23-years old, UMass, Power Forward/Center

Draft Express Measurements: 6″8.25 (without shoes), 7″5 wingspan, 241-pounds

2014-15 Stats: 11.6 points, 9.5 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 1.9 blocks, 0.6 steals, 55% field goals, 64% free-throws, 17% threes, 2.5 turnovers, 29 mpg

Quick Season Review: Cady Lalanne was a walking double-double at Massachusetts as a senior last year. UMass had a disappointing season as they went 17-15 overall after going 24-9 last year. The Minutemen’s season ended in a 76-69 loss to LaSalle in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament. Lalanne went for 17 points and 16 rebounds.

Strengths: NBA-ready body. Terrific rebounder and shot-blocker. Incredible wingspan. Efficient around the basket. Good defender. Plays with a high motor. Excellent offensive rebounder.

Weaknesses: Age. A bit raw. Can improve free-throw shooting. Decision making questionable at times. Must improve passing. Can’t create his own offense.

Where He Helps the Spurs?

Lalanne is a terrific rebounder and shot-blocker, he also plays with lots of energy. Lalanne might never be a good scorer at the next level, but he will be an energy guy that plays hard.

NBA Comparison: Cole Aldrich

Like Cole Aldrich, Lalanne lacks the offensive skills to change a game. Both are good rebounders and shot blockers, they also play with lots of energy.
