This was supposed to be an extremely difficult contest for the San Antonio Spurs. The primary reason, the Thunder are fighting for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Spurs began the game as beautifully as one can imagine. They outscored the Thunder 29-10 in the first quarter. The second quarter wasn’t dominated by the Spurs but they still outscored the Thunder 34-31. There wasn’t much defense played in the quarter.

The third quarter was a lot like the first quarter for the Spurs as they outscored the Thunder 25-16. The only quarter in which the Spurs were outplayed was the fourth. It was a meaningless quarter as the Spurs entered the period up 31 points.

The Spurs were better in almost every facet of the game, as they shot 53% from the field while the Thunder shot 41%. The Spurs nearly doubled the Thunder’s assist total as they had a 27-14 edge.

Kawhi Leonard led the Spurs with 26 points, including 23 in the first half.

Russell Westbrook led the Thunder with 17 points and 6 steals.
