Unlike most NBA games a dominant start by a team wasn’t an indicator of what was to come the rest of the night. The Spurs outscored the Dallas Mavericks 29-17 in the first quarter, but they were dominated the rest of the way.

The Mavericks outscored the Spurs 59-37 in the second and third quarters, to go up 10 after being down 12. Monta Ellis was definitely the best player on the floor, as he finished with 38 points on 16-27 field goals.

The Mavericks biggest lead in the game was 17 points, while the Spurs was 14 points. The closest the Spurs made the game in the fourth quarter was when they trailed 7 points with just under two minutes to play.

The key in the game was shooting. The Mavericks made 48% of their field goals, opposed to the Spurs who only shot 42%. Both teams finished with 16 turnovers each.

Kawhi Leonard led the Spurs with 19 points and 9 rebounds.
