San Antonio Spurs Player Grades in Win Over Phoenix Suns

By Jay Desai

The San Antonio Spurs won their second straight game on Saturday night, defeating the Phoenix Suns 101-74 on the road.

The Spurs never trailed in the game, leading by as many as 34 points to pick up a wire-to-wire victory.

The defensive effort displayed by San Antonio was the main key to victory as the Spurs forced the Suns to shoot a poor 29.8% for the game while creating 18 turnovers.

Kawhi Leonard was the catalyst of San Antonio’s attack, finishing with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Aron Baynes was another big contributor to the win, scoring 12 and grabbing 10 rebounds off the bench.

In the losing effort, it was Marcus Morris who stepped up for Phoenix to try to save the game. He picked up 19 points off the bench. The other Morris twin, Markieff, also scored in double-digits, finishing with 10.

Now that the game is over, we have post-game grades for key Spurs players in the San Antonio Phoenix game!

Check out our San Antonio Spurs player grades below!

A-. <strong><a rel=. SG. San Antonio Spurs. DANNY GREEN

San Antonio Spurs. KAWHI LEONARD. A+. Kawhi Leonard, much like Danny Green, also seems to be turning it around. A game removed from arguably his best performance on the rodeo road trip, Leonard topped that with a 22 point, 10 rebound outing against the Suns. He was also active defensively, picking up three steals and blocking two shots. Leonard is the youngest member of this core four that also includes Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker. With the latter three coming to an end in their careers, it will be up to Leonard to shoulder the load for this team in order for San Antonio to be successful. Tonight he did exactly that. Kudos..
