The San Antonio Spurs beat the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night, but it wasn’t as easy as I expected. The Spurs jumped to a 27-19 lead to end the first quarter but the Hornets stayed in the game, thanks to a big third quarter.

The Hornets outscored the Spurs 26-14 in the third and only led by five going into the final period. Neither team was spectacular on this particular night, but the Spurs made the better plays.

A key in the game was the three-point shooting. The Spurs shot 10-29 from three-point range, while the Hornets shot 6-18.

The Hornets truly missed their leader Kemba Walker, who is out with surgery on his torn meniscus. Walker was averaging 18.8 points and 5.2 assists this season.

Tony Parker led the way for San Antonio with 17 points. Danny Green chipped in with 16 points.

Al Jefferson had a good game for the Hornets, as he went for 17 points and 16 rebounds.

The Spurs are now 30-17 on the season.
