The San Antonio Spurs were simply outplayed by a hungrier Oklahoma City Thunder team. It’s also safe to say that the Spurs lost because they couldn’t guard Russell Westbrook. Westbrook went for 34 points, 11 assists, 5 rebounds and 5 steals.

The Thunder played without superstar Kevin Durant (right ankle sprain), while the Spurs didn’t have Boris Diaw (flu) and Kawhi Leonard. Westbrook began the game 1/8 from the field, missing mainly layups. He heated up and finished 14-28 and the Thunder never looked back.

Matt Bonner led the Spurs with 17 points and Manu Ginobili had a season high 13 assists, to go along with his 11 points and 7 rebounds.

Surprisingly both teams shot exactly the same from the field (42-81). A key in the game was the offensive rebounding, as the Thunder had 16 to the Spurs 10.
