The San Antonio Spurs lost to the Portland Trail Blazers 108-95 on Monday night. The Spurs were shorthanded as Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Tiago Splitter all missed the contest.

Unlike most Spurs losses this one wasn’t a surprise, considering the fact that it was on the road against one of the better teams in the league. Kawhi Leonard led the Spurs with 21 points and 9 rebounds. All Spurs starters scored in double digits and rookie Kyle Anderson had his best game as a pro. Anderson finished with 15 points and 5 rebounds in 20 minutes.

Strangely the Spurs shot better than Portland despite losing, as they shot 49% from the field, compared to the Trail Blazers 46%. The difference was that the Trail Blazers took 11 more shots from the field, as they got two more offensive rebounds and committed four less turnovers.

Damian Lillard and LaMarcus Aldridge led the Trail Blazers with 23 points apiece.

The Spurs are now 17-8 on the season.
