San Antonio Spurs vs New Orleans Pelicans Post-Game Grades

By Jay Desai

The San Antonio Spurs fell to the New Orleans Pelicans 100-99 yesterday.

More from Air Alamo

Anthony Davis was able to seal the win for the Pelicans thanks to a driving layup with 6.6 seconds left in the game.

The loss was disappointing for the Spurs since they battled back in the fourth quarter to turn it into a game. San Antonio used 15-4 run in the fourth to take a 99-98 lead, but, ultimately finished with a loss thanks to Davis’ bucket.

Now that the game is over, we have post-game grades for key Spurs players in the San Antonio New Orleans game!

Check out our player grades below!

B+. Tony Parker played well for the most part in this thriller between the San Antonio Spurs and the New Orleans Pelicans. The French point guard finished the game with 28 points and four assists while shooting 11-of-18 from the field. Parker did struggle in the turnover department though, committing five errors in the game.. PG. San Antonio Spurs. TONY PARKER

B+. Danny Green was solid for the Spurs in this one, scoring 16 points on five made field goals, including three from three-point land. Green also played a key role in the Spurs comeback, hitting the three clutch free throws that allowed San Antonio to take the 99-98 lead.. SG. San Antonio Spurs. DANNY GREEN

B+. Kawhi Leonard seems like he is slowly starting to get back in the mix of things. The star forward finished the night with a double-double, 14 points and 14 rebounds. Leonard did miss two shots that could have won the game for the San Antonio Spurs but we won’t knock him too much for that.. SF. San Antonio Spurs. KAWHI LEONARD

C. Tim Duncan may have picked up his 800th career double-double but that’s about all he did that was notable. Sure he finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds but it was on a poor 3-of-10 shooting. Throw in the fact that his match-up, Anthony Davis, completely outdid “The Big Fundamental” and you can see why Duncan received such a low grade.. PF. San Antonio Spurs. TIM DUNCAN

Boris Diaw did not do anything too spectacular for the San Antonio Spurs which is why he gets this not too spectacular grade. Diaw finished the game with six points and six rebounds but struggled in ball control committing three turnovers to his two assists.. C. San Antonio Spurs. BORIS DIAW. C+

B-. The San Antonio Spurs bench would have received a much lower grade had it not been for Manu Ginobili. The Argentine guard carried the reserves scoring 17 of the 24 points added by the bench. Outside of Ginobili the bench was 3-of-14, including an abysmal 1-of-7 performance by Cory Joseph who stared for Spurs in their previous game.. . . SAN ANTONIO SPURS BENCH
