By Jay Desai

The San Antonio Spurs were without five players during their 98-81 loss to the Houston Rockets. Two of those players, Tim Duncan, and Manu Ginobili, were out in order to rest for the team’s high number of games in the coming days.

The other three, Marco Belinelli, Patty Mills, and Tiago Splitter, were held out due to injury.

Patty Mills’ injury situation is well-known as the point guard is rehabbing from surgery on his torn rotator cuff. He is expected back in January.

Marco Belinelli and Tiago Splitter, on the other hand, have lesser known fates.

Belinelli was injured the San Antonio Spurs 94-92 win against the Atlanta Hawks, suffering a groin injury towards the end of the first quarter. According to Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, San Antonio is looking at a 7-to-10 day timetable on Marco Belinelli.
