We are launching a new segment here at Air Alamo. Every week, we will be issuing our power rankings for the NBA’s Southwest Division.

Week one is in the books for the NBA season so now it’s time to take a look at how the Southwest Division is shaping up this season.

The Southwest Division is arguably the best division in the Western Conference with all five teams having a decent chance at being playoff bound come April.

As the season progresses it will be interesting to see whether all five of these teams can maximize their talent to make their playoff dreams come true.

Week one saw some impressive starts for some of the Southwest Division teams. Two of the teams, the Memphis Grizzlies and the Houston Rockets, from the division started out a perfect 4-0. Others were right behind with the Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs losing only once each this week.

Check out the Southwest Division power rankings below from week one and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

211. The Memphis Grizzlies take spot number one in our first Southwest Division power rankings thanks to their fantastic 4-0 start to the season. The Grizzlies were one of two teams, the other being the Houston Rockets, to start the season with four straight wins. Memphis gets the nod over Houston, however, thanks to their early season strength of schedule. The Grizzlies had more impressive wins than the Rockets, winning at Charlotte and at home against an improving New Orleans Pelicans team.<p><strong>Up Next This Week:</strong> Nov. 5 @ Phoenix, Nov. 7 @ Oklahoma City, Nov. 8 @ Milwaukee</p>. 4-0 (1-0 DIV). Houston Rockets. 2. 169. The Houston Rockets also started out a strong 4-0 to begin the season. While their wins were not as impressive, wins against the Lakers, Jazz, Celtics, and 76ers, you cannot discount a perfect start to the season. This is a nice start for Houston team that was believed to be a worse team than last season after losing Chandler Parsons in free agency. Harden has been fantastic for the Rockets so far posting 25.3 points per game and a 30.2 player efficiency rating. If Houston can come out 2-1 after a tough stretch this week, they might be able to leap-frog Memphis.<p><strong>Up Next This Week:</strong> Nov. 4 @ Miami, Nov. 6 vs. San Antonio, Nov. 8 vs. Golden State</p><div class=. 4-0 (0-0 DIV).
