San Antonio Spurs vs Atlanta Hawks Game Preview

The San Antonio Spurs have their final home preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks today. The game marks the Spurs’ second to last preseason match.
San Antonio heads into the game with Atlanta coming off a surprising 106-99 victory against the Sacramento Kings.
The victory was surprising because the Spurs trailed by 16 points during the game while also using a lineup of Kyle Anderson, Jeff Ayres, Marco Belinelli, Bryce Cotton, and Austin Daye in much of the fourth quarter.
The Hawks come into this game with an even 3-3 record, their most recent match being a 117-114 overtime victory over the Charlotte Hornets in Atlanta.
For Spurs fans, it will be interesting to see how many minutes head coach Gregg Popovich allocates to players who are expected to be at the end of the bench for the upcoming season.
Pop gave extended minutes to guys such as Anderson, Daye, and Cotton so it will be interesting to see if the San Antonio coach sticks with a similar gameplan against Atlanta.
Kawhi Leonard, Patty Mills, and Tiago Splitter will once again be out for the San Antonio Spurs.
As for the older guys, Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili, expect them to be game time decisions. Don’t be surprised if Duncan and Ginobili either do not get in on the action or see limited minutes. As stated earlier, Pop seems to be looking to finalize the end of his rotation and is expected to give more minutes to the bottom of the rotation guys.
