The San Antonio Spurs continue their preseason journey today with a game rematch of the 2014 NBA Finals against the Miami Heat. The game marks the Spurs’ first home game in the preseason.
Although both teams played in the 2014 NBA Finals, this will hardly be a rematch with the Miami Heat changing their look over the summer. The new look Heat will feature a LeBron-less lineup and new additions Danny Granger, Luol Deng, and Josh McRoberts.
The Heat have struggled in the preseason so far, losing their first four games. Miami, however, looks to head into the game against San Antonio with a little confidence. The Miami Heat won their first preseason game last night against the Golden State Warriors thanks to a couple of late threes.
The San Antonio Spurs, on the other hand, are coming off a 121-90 blowout loss to the Phoenix Suns. The Spurs are not too concerned after that game though as many of their key players such as Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Kawhi Leonard were out for the match.
For Spurs fans following the game, Aron Baynes will be the focus of what to watch for. The Australian big man will be starting the game and looks to continue to solidify his role in the rotation, coming off an 11 point 5 rebound performance against the Suns.
