The San Antonio Spurs are still in pursuit of Gustavo Ayon, at least that is what one European source is claiming about the big man from Mexico.
Eurohoops.net sent out a tweet early Sunday morning claiming that the San Antonio Spurs were still interested in Gustavo Ayon.
The @Spurs are looking at the case of Gustavo Ayon. Nothing serious yet, but it complicates things more on his possible signing with Madrid

If you remember, the San Antonio Spurs had expressed interest in Gustavo Ayon about two weeks ago.
Ayon had reportedly been offered a multi-year deal with Real Madrid that he had agreed to. However, with FC Barcelona holding Ayon’s rights, this deal has become more complicated. FC Barcelona must receive approximately $376K before the deal can become official.
Add in the fact that the San Antonio Spurs are still intrigued with the big man and you have a very interesting offseason unfolding for Ayon.
The Spurs still have one open roster spot left before the team begins training camp on September 27th. That roster spot will likely be filled in the coming weeks and Ayon could be a candidate for it.
Gustavo Ayon played for the Atlanta Hawks last season posting averages of 4.3 points and 4.8 rebounds in 26 appearances and 14 starts.
Ayon also played for Mexico in the 2014 FIBA World Cup, leading the team in points and rebounds with averages of 17.6 and 7.6 respectively.
