The San Antonio Spurs don’t want to sign Shannon Brown passed his 10 day contract just yet. Like any smart team, they want to see what else is out there.

Spurs monitoring buyout market before choice on re-signing Shannon Brown, sources tell Y! Brown wants to stay but interest exists elsewhere.

And there are certainly players out there:

Rip Hamilton, Glen Davis,

Ron Artest

Metta World Peace (Could you see Pop actually calling him that?), Antwawn Jamison, Earl Clark, ex-Spur Beno Udrih, Drew Gooden, Daniel Gibson and Early Clark.

The Philadelphia 76ers may buy out Danny Granger, who the Spurs would then most likely pursue.

The fact that Granger is taking physical with 76ers doesn’t change fact that a buyout remains a consideration.

Shannon Brown is certainly the most athletic player of the bunch, something the Spurs are lacking with their injury-plagued roster.
