Earlier this afternoon, Hoopsworld tweeted out that the San Antonio Spurs will be working out Josh Childress in the coming weeks.  Childress’s Agent Chris Emens confirmed this with Hoopsworld.

Josh Childress will work out for the Cavaliers and Spurs over the next two weeks, agent Chris Emens told HoopsHype.

Childress played just fourteen games with the Nets last season while putting up not to eye catching numbers.  He averaged 5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.  He was drafted in 2004 by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2004 draft.

Besides playing in Atlanta and Phoenix, he also has some international play underneath his belt as well.  Before returning to the NBA in 2010-2011, he played over in Greece.

With the San Antonio Spurs, they continue to work on trying to fill their last roster spot.  Being 29 years old and a forward, there is no surprise that San Antonio is looking at filling their spot with Childress.  For one, he won’t come with a heavy price tag.  He is a versatile player and can become a good back-up for Kawhi Leonard.

Sound off Spurs fans.  Your thoughts on Childress possibly filling that final roster spot?
