As Jeff Garcia of Project Spurs put it, “DeJuan Blair hasn’t shied away from making his feeling known about his former club”. Garcia whom is the Co-Founder of Project Spurs first reported about an interview that Blair had with DallasNews.com’s Eddie Sefko.
Sefko asked what exactly happend while Blair was in San Antonio and why he felt his minutes diminished during his days, and why Gregg Popovich stopped giving him those minutes.

“I don’t know,” Blair said. “Pop stopped [playing] me. I couldn’t tell you what was going through that man’s head at all. Nobody knows but him.”
“I had to leave and come here where I think they’ll give me confidence and believe in me,” he said. “I didn’t think they believed in me in San Antonio, so that’s pretty good here. I feel supported. That’s how it is.”
Garcia continued to make good points on why Blair possibly saw minutes drop. The surgence of Tiago Splitter. Splitter whom is much bigger and taller than Blair simply drew more attention towards the coaching staff. He has also in his career has been known to having struggles maintaining his weight.
There is no question that Blair when he did get his number called, played his heart out. In my eyes. Dallas is a better situation for him. He will surely get the playing time in which he feels he deserves. Plus, Mavericks owner Marc Cuban is pretty excited that Blair is apart of his team:

“DeJuan, I think he’s a beast, and he put us on our backs a few times and had no problems dunking on us [when with the Spurs],” Cuban said. “And I think he’s ready to turn that around and send it in the other direction. So yeah, I think DeJuan will help us.”
