One team will be the new home of Greg Oden this weekend according to a report from Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. Many teams are awaiting for the decision as Oden will be choosing where he would like to play this coming season. Teams that are in the hunt for the big man are Miami, San Antonio, New Orleans, Sacramento and Atlanta.
From the list given, the two front-runners for the big man are most likely going to be the Heat or the Spurs.
Center Greg Oden probably won’t decide among the Heat and five other teams until this weekend, agent Mike Conley Sr. said Tuesday, adding that formal offers haven’t been made yet. He said the Heat has seen “all it needs to see” from a medical standpoint and that Oden won’t necessarily take the highest offer. But asked if a Heat offer at the $1 million minimum would be good enough, Conley said he was not sure.
Oden, according to Jackson, has not received any offers from any of the teams listed above. Oden who was widely considered as possibly being one of the leagues top big men after coming out of college where he played at Ohio State has been dealing with injuries to his knees, has a lot to prove when he decides on where he will be going.
Many reports are stating that he likely will be seeking guaranteed dollars and something more than just a minimum contract. We will keep you posted on anything we receive.
