NBA TV today started airing their ‘Real Training Camp’ which is showcasing Team USA and players that are trying to make the roster. Kawhi Leonard was invited to the training camp and decided not to pursue with the invitation as he and the Spurs staff felt he needed to take the time off from a grueling season to rest the injuries in which he has sustained with his knees.
Former San Antonio Spur George Hill was also invited to the camp and I was excited to hear him getting an invite and was looking forward to him taking the floor and showcasing what he could possibly bring to Team USA. He too, pulled out of the camp.
According to USA Today, due to scheduling conflicts. USA Basketball Chairman Michael Colangelo still is unsure why Hill decided to remove himself and does not know the exact reason.
Team USA kicked off a four-day camp on Monday to start preparing for the 2014 World Cup in Madrid.
