Because who doesn’t want another Greg Oden update? Pretend to care, guys.

ESPN’s Marc Stein reports that Greg Oden has scheduled face-to-face meetings with multiple teams this week in Las Vegas, while Summer League continues on.

From the report:

Free-agent center Greg Oden will be in Las Vegas this week for face-to-face meetings with officials from the Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans, according to sources with knowledge of Oden’s plans.

The sitdown with Mavericks officials, sources said, is scheduled for later Monday, as Dallas pushes to join the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat at the forefront of the race to resurrect the career of 2007’s No. 1 overall pick.

Pro Basketball Talk’s, Kurt Helin, says that smart money is still on San Antonio or Miami landing Oden, but he’s not going to limit his options.

Once again, this latest report is just more proof that Oden is taking his sweet time in returning to the NBA. It’s not just about winning or money, it’s about finding the perfect situation for himself. And at just 25-years-old, it’s good to see that his past experiences have him with his priorities in order.
