There is basketball being played and it is all happening in Orlando, Florida during the Orlando Summer League. The league kicked off this past Sunday, and the host Orlando Magic took to the floor to take on the Boston Celtics.
Victor Oladipo, the second overall pick in this years draft spent most of his time playing the point guard position as promised, and looked comfortable there initiating the offense. While he made a few poor decisions with his passes, his speed in getting to the rim and his ability to pull up off the dribble and knock down shots from three-point distance were certainly encouraging signs.
What I liked from Oladipo is the way he attacks the rim with aggression and showing that he is not afraid to go inside against the bigs. He can control the game in many ways and with him running the point most of the game, he did a great job with hesitating and turning on the boost when he saw an opening towards the lane.
Oladipo was 5-of-13 from the field with six turnovers. He finished with a solid all-around line of 18 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and five steals.
