No word on who the potential other three teams are, as this is the first time Neal has been linked to another team in free agency. As we last heard, Neal’s time in San Antonio has practically come to an end with the Marco Belinelli signing, contrary to earlier reports that the Spurs would still attempt to resign him. San Antonio did manage to extend Neal a $1.1 million qualifying offer, which still makes him a restricted free agent, meaning the Spurs can choose to match any offer he receives in free agency.
The Game 3 hero of the NBA Finals is coming off a season in which he averaged 9.5 points and 2.1 rebounds, while shooting 36% from beyond the arch. Neal is 28 and just finished his 3rd year in the NBA with the Spurs.
We’ll have more information on this as it comes in.
