Jun 16, 2013; San Antonio, TX, USA; San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Manu Ginobili warms up prior to game five in the 2013 NBA Finals against the Miami Heat at the AT

The San Antonio Spurs are expecting Manu Ginobili to return to the team for one, final season – this according to the San Antonio Express-News.

Per Jeff McDonald:

In May, Ginobili said he has no plans to retire. He left the possibility of retirement open a bit with comments during the Finals, but smart money says he will be back for at least one more season at a rate steeply discounted from the team-leading $14.1 million he earned in 2012-13. Nobody expects Ginobili will continue his career with any team other than the Spurs.

I for one had a feeling that Ginobili would not go out the way he did during the NBA Finals.  He had more downs than he did ups.  As McDonald pointed out, just weeks before the finals, Ginobili seemed assured he wold be returning for one more year.
