You knew that one member of the ‘Big Three’ would have themselves a break-out game and it so happens to be the leader of this team, the guy that runs the offense, Tony Parker. Parker notched a season and playoff high of 37 points as the San Antonio Spurs complete their second sweep of these playoffs. Parker played 40 minutes while shooting 15 of 21 from the floor. He hit four free throws in the final seconds of the game. Tim Duncan finished with 15 points on 7 of 15 shooting from the floor. As a team, San Antonio shot 51% from the floor and just 3 of 13 from beyond the arc.
The Grizzlies fought as they have done this whole series and that led to their rebounding. In game four, they out-rebounded San Antonio 41 to 33 and 16 to 4 on the offensive end. They Grizzlies were led by Quincy Pondexter who scored 22 off the bench. Marc Gasol finished with 14.
San Antonio making their way to the Finals for the first time since 2007, will have a much needed nine days off before the Finals begin on June 6.
We will have our full recap shortly.
