We all saw the Spurs take game 1 Sunday afternoon against the Lakers and our 2K simulation had the Lakers taking game 1. Of course I am happy with the outcome of the real game and I am pretty confident that the Spurs will have a 2-0 lead going into LA. Our sim did one thing right and that was the score the Spurs put up, that being 91 so it’s good for something right lol. Game 2 of the Lakers versus Spurs from the AT&T Center is coming your way….right now.

The San Antonio Spurs are looking to take a 2-0 lead going into LA for games 3 and 4. The Spurs would come out hot in the first quarter as Parker would hook up with Kawhi on a few occassions. Timmy got into the mix working down low against Pau on some very nice passing from the Spurs. A quick timeout by the Lakers was called to slow down this freight train.

Some costly turnovers by the Spurs late in the first would cut their quick 15 point lead down to 7 at the end of the first. The second quarter was almost like the first but it was the Lakers bench that would spark the fire, well just Antwan Jamison. Jamison would come off the bench and help the Lakers take their first lead in the game midway through the second. Ginobili would have an answer as would Dajuan Blair off the Spurs bench.

At the end of the first half the Spurs would take a 53-44 lead.

Jamison would get the start for the Lakers in the second half as the Lakers would outscore the Spurs 31-28. The Spurs would gather together in the fourth and put up a 10-0 run which would help the Spurs pull away with a game 2 win, 109-98. The Spurs were led by TP9 with 24 points and 9 assists, while Duncan added a double-double with 21 points and 12 boards. The Spurs bench scored 29 points in the win.

The Lakers were led by big man Pau Gasol with 28 points and 11 boards. The biggest lift came from Jamison off the bench with 21 points. The Lakers had 17 turnovers in the loss. The Spurs out rebounded the Lakers 50-46 and only had 10 turnovers. The scene now shifts to the Staples Center, we will see if the Spurs can take game 3 and set up for a possible sweep.
