Video: Stephen Jackson trips over waitress, sprains ankle

.
With about 3:23 remaining in the first quarter, and San Antonio clinging to an early three-point lead in what eventually became a 17-point loss at Madison Square Garden, a waitress happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. (Depending on your allegiance, you may feel differently.)
The waitress was merely serving patrons during the game. But as Stephen Jackson uncorked a corner 3-pointer, momentum carried him into the first rows. He and the waitress, serving New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, collided — which you can see about three seconds into the video, at the bottom left corner.
Jackson walked gingerly off the court and didn’t return with a sprained right ankle. His official timetable is unknown.
In the taxonomy of basketball injuries, tripping over a waitress has to be nearly as ridiculous as bowling.
