Memphis Grizzlies guard Tony Allen will miss his second consecutive game with a strained right groin according to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News.
Allen, whose started 13 games this season, is averaging eight points, 3.5 rebounds and two steals per game. The 30-year-old guard is shooting 38 percent from the field, marking a career low.
While Allen hasn’t necessarily been an offensive asset, the reigning first-team All-Defender has made a significant impact thus far. Memphis is 13.4 points per 100 possessions better with Allen on the floor, according to NBA.com/Stats.
