Once again eschewing national television ratings for an extra day of rest, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich will enter tonight’s game against the Miami Heat with a nine player roster.

According to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Danny Green and Tony Parker did not travel with the team following last night’s 110-89 victory in Orlando. The quarter will earn an extra day of rest as the six-game road trip wanes to a close.

Coupled with injuries to Kawhi Leonard and Stephen Jackson and the Heat, who have not played since Saturday, may find it desirable to allocate minutes to their rotation players. Chris Bosh, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are each averaging more than 33 minutes per game.

The Spurs play top-seeded Memphis on Saturday, their first of four regular season matchups.
