The San Antonio Spurs dropped their third game of the season. The Los Angeles Clippers have already beaten last season’s No. 1 seeded Spurs twice — one more time than last year.
Since ousting the Clippers in the semifinals, the Spurs have been outscored by 27 points in two games against the division leading Clippers.
The Spurs were beaten in the interior, ceding a game-changing 20 point differential in the paint. Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan chipped in 29 points while Chris Paul’s 19 points and eight assists led the team.
Tim Duncan was excellent again, adding 20 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks. The 36-year-old has recorded six double-doubles thus far and has a higher player efficiency rating (27.4) than Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant.
