A little back-and-forth is brewing between Spurs color commentator Sean Elliott and Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins.

Elliott began the back-and-forth last night when he said “humility was in order” following Cousins’ bout of trash talking directed to Tim Duncan. Cousins drew Duncan’s second personal foul with 5:01 remaining in the fourth, before he prompted his bench that he was going to “bust Duncan’s (expletive)”.

Cousins responded to Elliott today, calling his comment “immature.” (Video via TrueHoop’s Cowbell Kingdom.)

“It was a competitive big man battle,” Cousins said. “But some people (referring to Sean Elliott) want to say people are immature on TV and make comments about me. Trash talking is part of the game. I have the utmost respect for Tim Duncan so me trash talking is not being disprespectful. But for him to go on TV and say the comments that he said — that’s immature.”

Cousins reiterated that he and Duncan — who scored six points after the exchange, including a dunk off a give-and-go from power forward Boris Diaw — have a good relationship.

Hat-tip to Jeff Garcia of Project Spurs.
