San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Manu Ginobili has been ruled out of tonight’s home opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Ginobili, 35, wrote earlier this week that he has been suffering from lumbar spasms, or involuntary contractions, on his left side. Lumbar spasms occur in the lower back and can limit mobility significantly. Rest is advised to treat the pain.

Including the final exhibition tilt against the Washington Wizards, Ginobili has missed three consecutive games with the injury.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said Ginobili may make his regular season debut Saturday against the Utah Jazz.
