Former Spur Johnny Moore retrieves stolen NBA Championship rings

Former Spur Johnny Moore retrieved his stolen 1999 and 2003 championship rings and a ring Moore received at the University of Texas.

Moore’s nephew, Jason Witherspoon, reportedly stole the rings and pawned them to Miles Gold and Silver for around $1,506. The rings are estimated to be worth around $33,000 according to police.

Moore spent the majority of his tenure with the San Antonio Spurs, amassing 519 games and 333 starts through 10 seasons. He led the league in assists in his second season, along with career averages of 9.4 points, two steals and 46% shooting. The Spurs retired his 00 jersey prior to the ’99 championship season.
